Supervision provides a safe, supportive and confidential space in which to reflect on and work through any aspect of life that may be impacting upon your work. All the ups and downs that occur during your career.
This could be anything from pressure or volume of work, vicarious trauma from difficult cases and clients, workplace politics, concerns about career progression to issues at home and the balance between home and work life. It is also a place to celebrate successes on the way.
Why have supervision?
Leading firms and chambers offer Supervision as a proactive and sustained measure to support their employees' wellbeing and to benefit from its real financial returns.
The 2022 Deloitte mental health report shows that on average a return of £5 is gained for every £1 spent by employers to improve the mental health of their employees. The report highlights that greater returns on investment are made where those measures are proactive and sustained rather than reactive and one off.
Many Employee Assistance Programmes are reactive.
Supervision is proactive and sustained which ensures the best outcomes and most effective return on investment.
It is far more costly to clear up damage following a flood than to invest ahead in strong defences.
Supervision enables and supports you to be the best version of yourself which, in turn, creates a better working relationship with clients and enhances the profile of a firm.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority now recognises Supervision as a valuable form of CPD.

How I work
Meetings are for an hour, one to one, usually once a month.
Supervision meetings take place in any location agreed between supervisor and supervisee.
For instance: a private office provided by a firm or remotely via a secure digital platform (e.g. Teams).
A contract with a professional firm or chambers can be flexible in terms of number of sessions and frequency. A pay as you go arrangement is available for privately paying individuals.
We will talk about what will suit you best.
Keen to better support yourself and/or your employees? My supervision practice is practical and effective, with workforce wellbeing at its core.
